Driving along, sun shining, top down, golden hair ruffled by the wind. Blue light, siren. Busted.
I shouldn't have gone out for those salads. I should have just stayed home and gone to bed. I led him on a gut-wrenching 30-foot chase before I pulled over. Seems my inspection sticker was expired. That's an 06? I thought it was an 08! First time to be pulled over in 33 years.
So, an hour later, I have new inspection stickers on my car and all I have to do now is go on the internet and pay the fine. I think it's $160. Governments have all kinds of ways to bleed people without calling it taxation.

An Expensive Mistake

BUMMER...and all for a salad!
Groan.... I feel for you.
I went 20 years without being stopped and then got stopped 3 times within about 2-3 months. Speeding, illegal passing (which I fought and won) and expired sticker.
The illegal passing ticket was in a little podunk Louisiana bump-in-the-road town that had a judge come in once a month to have court. I showed up to fight the thing and the judge was so amused that I drove 40 miles to his court to fight that he let me off the hook...sortof...they wrote me up for an expired sticker, even though it wasn't expired... because they needed the $ - but I didn't have to see my insurance go up.
Sounded a little shady to me...like a bribe...but I took it.
A month or two later, I got stopped for a real expired sticker and paid again!
I think the three stops cost me a total of about 350-400 dollars.
Four salads. Those prepared kind. For work. And they're good.
GOLDEN HAIR? Are you kidding?
Nope. I'm getting a wee bit of gray in my sideburns, but my hair is the same now as when I was a teen. My mom didn't start graying until she got into her 70s.
