No. The average military member is better educated, more experienced, more disciplined and more professional than his civilian counterparts. At the tender age of 22, I was a shift supervisor at the computer center of the Air Force Weapons Lab, when the first smart bombs and laser technology were being developed. My closest civilian counterpart was 48. Most military career fields are worth an associates degree. In my branch of service the crediting authority was the Community College of the Air Force. There are very active college programs at all military installations. Military people can also take free correspondence courses for other career fields. Besides the optional opportunities, the military conducts mandatory training in things such as human relations, management, counseling, etc., all through a person's career. Military people are definitely not uneducated and ignorant. In fact, a military career or even just one hitch will give a person a leg-up on competitors that will serve him for the rest of his life. It is just one of the best things a person can do -- better even than a college education. When I was teaching radio and TV production, my students got more hands-on training in seven weeks than they would have in four years majoring in media. But you can't tell that to ignorant liberals and elitists, who are getting more stupid with every generation. Seen John Kerry lately?
