A Rose by Any Other Name

When I first rolled into DC more than 12 years ago, I had just $500 in my pocket. I figured that would hold me over to my first paycheck, but payday came and my check ended up in South Carolina with someone who had my name. He has since retired, so there are no more mix-ups like that. But have you ever wondered how many people in the United States have your name? I count 272. But when I put in my birth name (I changed it when I got into broadcasting), there is only one.

Not as rare, supposedly there are only three. It's kind of interesting to google your name to. I've found out that there is a guy (With my name)out east involved with wind power

There are 252 folks out there with my name... There are only 53 out there using my maiden name...

And how many are using your Las Vegas name?

One extreme to the other. Half a million people in America have my first name, but no-one has my last.
So typical; part of the crowd, but stand out nevertheless.

My last name is unique enought that no one in the states shares it with me.
