Mmmm Day-Old Sushi

So, I had a hankering for sushi this morning and stopped by the grocery store on my way home. I found some day-old California rolls for half-price. As I was checking out, the clerk asked me if I wanted to give a dollar to feed the homeless during Thanksgiving. I said "Make it 50." "What?" she said. (I get that a lot) "Make it 50 dollars." "OK," and she started swiping a piece of paper over the scanner one scan at a time. BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP "OR!" said I, raising one finger in the air, "We could make it for 10 dollars." "It's already more than 10." "That's ok. I just want this to end." I just wanted to get home and eat my sushi. I guess the homeless will have to settle for tofurky this year. The sushi was good and the wasabi cleared out my sinuses.

Yet another reason to like you, Kimosabe.

If you are even in the Cincinnati area--- let me know... I will take you to the BEST sushi place around. My mother and aunts and uncles all agree (and they are authentic sushi eaters from Okinawa) :-)

My first overseas assignment was Okinawa. I've become a pretty good sushi roller myself. But the ones I like best are filled with that creamy crab. I THINK it's just fake crab and mayo, but I'm not sure. Haven't been able to track down a recipe.
