The Foley Follies

WASHINGTON, Oct 3 (Reuters) - The Washington Times, a conservative newspaper that generally supports Republicans, called on Tuesday for the resignation of House Speaker Dennis Hastert over his handling of a congressional sex scandal. "House Speaker Dennis Hastert must do the only right thing, and resign his speakership at once," the newspaper said in an editorial in which it joined conservative leaders in calling for leadership resignations over the handling of matter.

First of all, the Washington Times generally supports Republicans because Republicans are generally right and Democrats are generally, dangerously wrong. OK, with that out of the way, let me say that anyone caught molesting a child should be sentenced to death -- to be carried out by a torch-wielding mob with a rope. Now that you know where I stand, it's time to say that making the Mark Foley scandal into a partisan issue is sick and wrong. Republicans and Democrats don't become pedophiles -- it isn't a choice. Pedophiles become Republicans and Democrats -- and teachers, and camp counselors and Boy Scout leaders and clergymen and anything else they can become to put them near children. They build their entire lives around their perversion. But Foley is not necessarily a child molester. Ms. Green deals with the issue of just what mental illness Foley has. Technically, congressional pages are not children. The District of Columbia and every state except Nebraska issue marriage licenses to people under the age of 17. Foley isn't a pedophile who tried to seduce a child, he is a homosexual who tried to hook up with a young man. Every gay guy's dream. This is how the liberals WANT the country to work. Who'da thunk they were such homophobes? I wrote a short time ago about how Democrats hold their people to a far lower standard than Republicans do. Republicans should rightfully be held to a higher standard. It's laughable when liberals get on a moral high-horse. They always get bucked off. Let's not forget that the ACLU is working with NAMBLA to strike down every age-of-consent law in the country. Mark Foley should have resigned. He should face charges if he's broken any laws. And so should any Republican who covered up Foley's activities -- after it's proven that they did so. When a story initially breaks, misinformation rains from the skies like frogs in Medieval Europe. The page who said he was "warned" about Foley is now backing off his story after other pages refuted it. There should be no resignations until the proper authorities have fully investigated the case and have determined a crime was committed. As I see it, the worst thing Foley is guilty of is using his position to try to seduce subordinates. Gee, where have I seen that before? Bill Clinton? Jesse Jackson. This should be handled according to House rules. Republicans always fold when faced with allegations of wrong-doing. Democrats don't.

I'm taking my usual stance of let the judicial system run it's course, if he's guilty find a tree. That being said, these IM's have been known about for around three years. There are so many sex cases that the dems covered up, shoot I don't remember the dems calling for Tom Folley to step down after it was discovered there was a prostitution ring running in Barney Frank's basement, and nothing happend after he fixed +30 tickets.

From the stuff I heard yeasterday it sounds like the Republican leadership did all it could with the info they had at the time.

The thing is who ever had this and did nothing to stop it is just as guilty as Mark Folly, the thought that this could have been held back for three years is disturbing

I wonder what the "Washington Post, an ultra-liberal newspaper that always supports democrats" has to say on the subject?

I'm not sure now is the right time for Republicans to shoot themselves in the foot by killing off their Speaker. For every rotten Republican congressman there are 200 democrat congressmen ten times as worse, in all ways.
If we are poised to lose the control of the Congress to this Godless, traitor-infested, immoral gang of thieves known collectively as democrats, now is the time to circle the wagons. God save America from the scourge of these anti-American cretins!
