YOU MUST READ THIS ARTICLE From the looks of it we can blame Carter for most of our problems...and yet that man is still yapping about how Bush is doing it wrong today. Here is a smidgeon...
Jimmy Carter, elected during the Cold War with the Soviet Union, and (1) believing Americans had an inordinate fear of communism, (2) lifted U.S. citizens' travel bans to Cuba, North Korea, Vietnam and Cambodia and (3) pardoned draft evaders. President Carter (4) also stopped B-1 bomber production, (5) gave away our strategically located Panama Canal and (6) made human rights the central focus of his foreign policy. That led Carter, a Democrat, (7) to make a monumental miscalculation and withdraw U.S. support for our long-standing Mideast military ally, the Shah of Iran. (8) Carter simply didn't like the Shah's alleged mistreatment of imprisoned Soviet spies. The Soviets, (9) with close military ties to Iraq, a 1,500-mile border with Iran and eyes on Afghanistan, aggressively tried to encircle, infiltrate, subvert and overthrow Iran's government for its oil deposits and warm-water ports several times after Russian troops attempted to stay there at the end of WWII. These were all communist threats to Iran that Carter never understood. Carter (10) thought Ayatollah Khomeini, a Muslim exile in Paris, would make a fairer Iranian leader than the Shah because he was a religious man.

You make a good point...Carter is the perfect ambassador...great at dinner parties...knows how to talk compassionately about current events and always seems sincere...he just never seems to be right about anything.
Reading those 97 Reasons is really depressing. If these uselful idiots gain control of the congress and later the White House, the future looks bleak indeed.
A good ambassador doesn't badmouth his own country. Nor does he fall for the manipulation of our enemies. Carter is too naive for any job in government.
I was in the Air Force when Carter came to office. He totally neglected the military. It was such a relief when Reagan was elected and the first thing he did was give the military a 12$ raise. I no longer had to experience those awkward moments when I had to tip my boss, who bagged groceries at the commissary.
Sure. Carter is a great ambassador to France, Al-Qaeda. . anywhere but America. I don't buy the naive, peanut farmer schtick anymore. He's been around too long and damaged this country too much NOT to understand the results of his actions. He knew/knows what he is doing.
WHERE IS THE LONE RANGER--IS HE OK?
