Did the Pope say something wrong??

Does anyone think this statement isn't true?

The pope quoted from a book recounting a conversation between 14th-century Byzantine Christian Emperor Manuel Paleologos II and a Persian scholar on the truths of Christianity and Islam. "The emperor comes to speak about the issue of jihad, holy war," Benedict said. "He said, I quote, 'Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.'"

Faith comes from the inside out...at least the good kind does...I can't think of any religion or practice that successfully transforms and is good for an individual when forced...that is why most of us practice nothing because someone, usually parents, forced us to practice a religion we didn't want...because we didn't understand our faith and choose it from the inside out...we all want the choice...and that is the fundamental problem with Islam...choice is not a factor...just FEAR.

Exactly. And if someone is forced to convert outwardly, there is no guarantee they have converted inwardly. So does Allah still accept them even if it is only outwardly?

Actually they do not know if Allah ever accepts them at all until they die...no matter what they do...only way to know for sure you are going to heaven as a Muslim is to be a martyr!!

Pointless...

To me it seamed pretty accurate if muslims are rioting it must be true.

The Pope knew exactly what he was saying and he knew exactly what the response would be. What better way to demonstrate the barbarity of Islam than to remark that they are evil and inhuman and then stand back and watch them respond with evil and inhumanity?
