Oklahoma Senator Nancy Riley has just defected to the Dems, saying there is no room for her in the Republican party because they have gone too right wing extreme. Giving the Democrats a 26-22 count going into the next election. What I want to know regardless of who is leaving what party is if your constituents voted you in because they thought you were a Republican how can you just do this and keep your job in the middle of a term? Couldn't the voters recall her and say, "Hey we voted in a Republican? You can't just do that." I mean what is up with that? If she wants to change parties just before election...o.k....but not in the middle of a term??? Hey each party could now lobby to get members to change parties all the time if this starts to prove effective.
And what was so hypcritical about her reasons is that she said the Republicans just want a majority rather than be right about anything...Riley, of Sand Springs, said Senate GOP leaders have said "we'd rather be in the majority rather than be right" and "it's all about making the other side look bad" while developing strategy.
O.K...now is she really trying to tell me that the Democrats behave any differently or would have a different agenda? It's called partisan politics and that's why it stinks, but PLEASE.

She's a phony. She knows there's no room for moderates in the
Democratic party. Ask Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller. So, she was unhappy being an "extreme" right-wing Republican, but she'll be happy being an extreme left-wing Democrat? Enjoy your abortion.
Unfortunately, there's nothing illegal about it. The Founding Fathers never foresaw there would be a day when politicians would be such dishonorable weasels. The voters will just have to get her out next election.
Why do we bother having individual votes on specific issues anymore?
Oh, yeah... It's in case a few Republicans want to vote with the Democrats on something or other.
I'm so sick of stuff like this, I could chew aluminum foil.
The phrase that started the Revolutionary War was "No Taxation without Representation."
At what point do the American Citizens realize that our Congressmen (Congresspeople?) and Senators represent no one but themselves, no matter what Party they claim to belong to?
What do we do when that realization finally sets in?
