I was watching the news conference Bush had telling the Press this is their last day in the old room. Sam Donaldson chimes in and Buah makes his comment about him being old news or whatever but did we hear Sam actually ask the President about Mel Gibson's comments? Why would you want to ask the President a question about something stupid like that? The dummy was an actor [although I do love his movies] pulled over for a DUI. How is this news that the President would comment? What reporter would waste their ONE question on Mel Gibson? Maybe I am wrong and Sam didn't ask that, but I thought I heard him ask President Bush to comment on that...WOW, riveting.

That wasn't a "real" press conference. It was more like a good-by party for the old press room. Everyone was goofing around,
Well, maybe, but the drive-by media has been falling all over themselves with kicking Gibson while he's down. Whenever a prominent member of the Religious Right mis-steps, they are there like vultures, to pick and tear at him. Gibson's led the news everywhere for four days now. They can't get enough of it. They won't be satisfied until they've buried him. His real crime is not driving drunk or making anti-semetic statements. His real crime is being an outspoken Christian. They can't stand that. Especially since he's essconced in their fortude of Darkness and Godlessness, Hollyweird.
I find it quite interesting that the same people who are refusing to condemn Hezbollah as terrorists are swarming all over Mel Gibson. Once again I say, liberals can't be shocked or offended. But some of them surely can act.
