Oh Yeah, This'll Work

IN AN attempt to halt gang violence, Barcelona has taken the unusual step of legalizing the Latin Kings, registering them as a cultural association that could receive state aid. The feared gang, which was born in 1940s Chicago and has recently spread to Spain, was this week granted the grand title of Asociación Cultural de Reyes y Reinas Latinos de Cataluña (Cultural Association of Latin Kings and Queens of Catalonia), making it sound more like a medieval court than a band of street thugs.
It was in front of our nose all the time. The way you fight bad guys is to make them good guys. First, Spain elected a socialist government that immediately rolled over on its back and submissively exposed its belly to terrorists. Now, they reform a street gang by making it a social club. Maybe Spain should just repeal all its laws. After all, you can't have law-breakers if there are no laws to break.
