It's True. What You Don't Know, Can't Hurt You

JOHANNESBURG, Aug 21 (Reuters) - A South African sky-diver plummeted 1,000 metres (3,280 feet) when his parachute failed to open on his first high-altitude jump -- but walked away unscathed, the SAPA news agency said on Monday. "Because it was my first jump, I thought I just had a bad landing," said 35-year-old Benno Jacobs, who landed in a ploughed field near the city of Bloemfontein after his jump on Friday. SAPA said Jacobs was uninjured but was treated for minor ailments including bruises and a swollen lip.
So, let's see, after a loud "THUMP!" this guy climbs out of a hole shaped like his body, brushes himself off and says, "That was fun, but I thought it was supposed to last longer." By the way, Jacobs was the third person to jump out of the plane, but the first to hit the ground. If he ever needs a job, the U.S. public school system is always looking for teachers.
