I'm Not Up Yet

Yes, it's 3:30 in the morning and yes, I said I'd comment on a post below when I got up, but I'm not officially up yet. I just got up to give the cats a mid-night snack (at 3 am). And now I'm waiting to see if Gwen will cough up a hairball the size of my finger. So I thought I'd type in a few random thoughts. I got my Magic Bullet food chopper today. EXCELLENT! Much easier to use and clean up than the Ultra-chopper. (I believe I mentioned some years ago that, being a night worker, I own just about everything that's advertised in infomercials. Anyway, I got mine from Amazon -- through Radio Equalizer. Don't pay more than 40 bucks for one, regardless of where you look for it. I'm typing on a new keyboard. Seems my previous one couldn't stand up to a full glass of Coke Zero being poured on it. The spell checker has its work cut out for it. The keys are all in the same place, but it has a different feeling. And I'm typing in the dark. I've decided to make hamhocks and black-eyed peas for my weekend lunches. So I'll dump that in my slow-cooker as soon as I officially wake up. I also have to make a huge batch of beef jerky over the next few days. I'm going on vacation after Labor Day and my nieces and nephews love the stuff. I'm going to give someone my dehydrator and the recipe and let them work it out. I'm going out of the free beef jerky business. Whenever I go on a trip, I form a staging area in the middle of my living room and then toss articles on it whenever I think of them. The dehydrator will be the first thing in the stack. When I went to Hong Kong, my staging area consisted of a change of clothes, toiletries and two empty suitcases. I bought everything else there. Oddly enough, empty suitcases consternate the TSA more than a bag of explosives would. The cats are pestering me. Time to go back to bed.
