I Don't Know Why I'm Sad, But I Am

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Four-time Iditarod champion Susan Butcher died Saturday in a Seattle hospital of complications from a recent bone marrow transplant, Sen. Ted Steven's office said. She was 51.

Susan was an authentic American Hero, and I join mushers everywhere in mourning her loss. She was a role model for us all. God Bless her.

Americans prize the healthy human spirit, and this lady certainly embodied that for all of us. We naturally mourn her loss.
