The New York Times has just fired the latest shot in the war on terror -- on behalf of the terrorists.
I have Friday's Escapes section of the NYT on my desk and I can't believe what I'm seeing.
An article entitled Weekends With the President's Men gives full details about the summer homes of Dick Cheney and Donald H. Rumsfeld.
At the top of page D1 is a picture of the private road that leads to Cheney's property at St. Michaels, Md. To the right of that is another picture showing the driveway of Rumsfeld's home nearby. The NYT helpfully points out a surveillance camera lens in a bird house on Rumsfeld's driveway. Since when are readers of travel articles interested in narrow, dirt, private roads?
Hey, you want driving instructions? I mean, I can understand that terrorists might not be familiar with the area.
Just an hour and a half from Washington, across the 4.3-mile Chesapeake Bay Bridge, or less than 30 minutes in a government-issue Chinook helicopter, is the Eastern Shore of Maryland and the primly groomed waterside village of St. Michaels.
If that isn't enough, there is also a picture of Talbot Street in St. Michaels -- the only road through the town -- leading to the two properties.
Want more? Well, turn to page D10 and you'll find maps and pictures of a few places where the President's men might be found shopping: "even Joyce Rumsfeld shops at Big Al's Market."
Can there be any doubt that this phony travel article is just a sleazy form of retaliation from the NYT for criticizing them on the way they handled the terrorist finance story?
Boo-hoo-hoo, the public thinks we're traitors. Let's show all the terrorists and anti-war lunatics where the President's two top men are living.
How far do these dreadful people have to go before they're classified as enemy combatants?

I have no love for FDR or Lincoln (which I'll explain in an up coming posting in October), but if anyone threatened national security the way these traitors have they would be arrested with out "habeous corpus" and no one would complain other wise they would join these traitors.
Maybe it's time the Times registered as a Foreign Agent.
Trader Rick is right; the way they are betraying this country they are a foreign agent! I hope they will suffer a lot of colateral damage from this bs!
where's all that "civility" they were crying about...this is just out and out vicious.
When the government invades your privacy, your information ends up in a folder somewhere, or you could end up in jail if you're doing something illegal.
When the New York Times invades your privacy, your information could end up splashed across front pages everywhere and your reputation could be ruined or your safety could be compromised. Who would you rather have poking around in your life?
