Why can't I book a vacation where I'd have to pay for transportation only one way? The people clamoring to get out of Beirut as missiles rained down on them complained about having to pay their way home until the US government agreed to pick up the tab. What a savings! And if that weren't enough, the people who were lucky enough to get a spot on a cruise ship for Cyprus complained about the heat in the corridors, that it was overcrowded, that they didn't always get fed on time, even that a few of them didn't have access to e-mail! Perhaps the State Department needs to put together a refugee handbook. Rule number one: When you ignore State Department travel warnings and Uncle Sam saves your butt, show a little gratitude.
