A Rose By Any Other Name...

Scientists find that moms consistently rank the stink of their baby's "number two" as No. 1. In a new study, 13 mothers were asked to sniff soiled diapers belonging to both their own child and others from an unrelated baby. The women consistently ranked the smell of their own child's feces as less revolting than that of other babies. This effect persisted even when the diapers were purposely mislabeled.
Hmmm, I wonder if there are any new mommies reading this who could confirm it. When I was a kid, I had to change my brother's and sister's diapers. It always took four diapers -- one for the baby, one tied over my nose and one wrapped around each of my hands. That's the origin of my mask.

Well I would probably agree but I still think my son's 7 month old diapers reek!!

I am sure this has to do with conditioning...like a baby's cry...the only one you smell...you get used to it. Like the inability to no longer smell perfume on myself but every one else does.

Well, sure his diapers are going to reek if you keep them for 7 months.
