SEATTLE (AP) -- A man walked into a Jewish organization Friday afternoon and opened fire, killing one woman and injuring at least five others before he was arrested, officials said. The gunman, who employees said claimed to be a Muslim angry at Israel, forced his way through the security door at the Jewish Federation after an employee had punched in her security code...I showed you that so I could show you this.
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- A gunman opened fire Thursday at Los Angeles International Airport while standing in line at the ticket counter of Israel's El Al Airlines, officials said, killing two and wounding four others before an airline security officer shot him dead. Authorities identified the gunman as 41-year-old Hesham Mohamed Hadayet, who came to the United States from Egypt in 1992 and had been living in Irvine, California, for the last two years.
I remember after that shooting four years ago, hearing a couple of editors bloviating that these things wouldn't happen if Israel would change its policies toward Palestinians. Of course, I had to butt in and said, "This wasn't a political act, it was a religious act. This guy was having either money problems or family problems and decided to take the express elevator to paradise by whacking some Jews." They looked at me like the conservative Neanderthal that I am, and I'm sure I was the topic of discussion when I went home. In the coming days, it came out that this guy was having family AND money problems and decided to take the express elevator to paradise by whacking some Jews. One of those two editors hasn't spoken to me since then. Talk about holding a grudge. The other one drowned. For some inexplicable reason, the FBI has refused to call either of these two shootings terrorist acts. They are considered hate crimes. How many people have to be killed in one incident before the government considers it terrorism? And when and where will it happen next?
UPDATE: Michelle Malkin has compiled a list of random shooters -- who coincidently have mostly Arab names.

And my friends wonder why I carry? I gotta go get some pig's blood now.
When John Kerry said he wanted to reduce terrorism to the level of a nuisance, this is probably what he was talking about. Of course, it's a bit more than a nuisance to the families of the women who were shot. But John Kerry does not feel their pain.
Every day I thank God that we kept John Kerry at the level of a nuisance in 2004.
If you listen carefully to everything that Democrats say, you will find that this is their solution to each and every problem.
Do not SOLVE anything, just reduce it to the level of a nuisance, so that you can use it as a campaign issue forever.
Democrats are a pitiful bunch, alright, on every level. They've been in decline for 40 years. Have you noticed they don't even have the mental capacity anymore to write decent anti-war protest songs? What are they coming to when Cindy Sheehan is their shining beacon?
But they're still dangerous. They vote.
Thanks but I think I might have appreciated ignorance on this one...as true as it is...and by the way not much of it on the local news!!!
I live twenty minutes from Irvine...thirty from LAX...and ten minutes from the Islamic Institute of Orange County...which is ironically 15 minutes from Disneyland...what a wonderful world!!...just don't know who to thank.
Unlike Dakota Ranger I am still afraid of guns...guess I will have to stick to smearing pork around the house.
That's like smearing garlic around your windows to ward off vampires.
You think you're nervous? There are at least three Muslims working within grenade range of me in the newsroom. We have several Muslim language services, made up of dozens of people from Muslim countries.
Liberals would call this racial profiling, but when a man-eating tiger is threatening an Indian village, they don't go out and shoot a bear. It seems that impoverished Indian peasants are smarter than liberals.
By the way, one of my uber-liberal co-workers hated guns. Then, her neighbor (an FBI agent) gave her some shooting lessons and now she's a gun buff! To use feminist terminology, it is quite empowering. The handgun isn't called the "great equalizer" for nothing. It can put you on the same playing field as a criminal who is twice as big as you are. Home invasions are an increasing problem in LA, and despite the city's animosity toward gun ownership, a gun could give you the advantage you need to protect yourself and your family.
