A quotation possibly falsely attributed to Winston Churchill says, "If you're not Liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not Conservative when you're 35, you have no brain." I would change that quote to say, "If you're liberal, you're either clueless or evil." Age has nothing to do with it, since the average toddler has more common sense than liberals. Twenty-three is about the time I came to my senses and realized that conservativism was the only logical way to go. Abortion was not yet legal, so the pure evils of liberalism were not as apparent as they are today. It's like, before the Nazi's began burning Jews, Germans loved how they had turned around the economy. I was reminded of this when I read one of Melanie Phillip's old columns. Forgive the spelling and long-windedness -- she's a Brit. To condense her column into a few sentences, liberals lie to us, they lie to each other, they lie to themselves, and they believe their own lies. If you can't tolerate liars, you can't possibly be a liberal.
