Castro Has Gastro

Rumors have been circulating for a few weeks now that Castro is dying. It beats me how all these brutal dictators seem to live forever. Evil must have anti-aging properties. He has turned over the country to his brother while he undergoes surgery to repair intestinal bleeding. He's been hospitalized several times, but has never before given up power. The hope would be that Fidel would die and his brother would say, "I give up. Send us dollars." After all, how bad could a guy named Raul be? Well, at 75 and five years younger than Fidel, Raul is far less charismatic than his brother, and far more radical. Fidel will probably be around for his 80th birthday on August 13th.

UPDATE: Get a load of this lede from Reuters.

HAVANA, July 31 (Reuters) - Cuban President Fidel Castro, one of the world's most enduring leaders, handed over power provisionally to his brother and underwent surgery, he said in a statement read out on state television on Monday.

Enduring leader? How about old monster?
