Rather than look up conflicting stories I will just go right to the sources here and ask anyone reading this...I have a question about current events that I need clarified and another that just has me thinking??? 1) Was Valerie Plame just a classified employee or really an undercover operative? Because if it is the former, then Novak is right...what's the big deal whoever his primary source is? [Oh yeah could be Cheney?] 2) Should we have invaded IRAN over IRAQ instead...did we invade the wrong country first?

At the time the Novak column came out, Plame was an analyst working a desk job with almost zero chances of being assigned overseas again. There's just nothing there. This was just a lame attempt by Democrats to eliminate Karl Rove and hurt the Bush administration. It was no more high-minded than an L.A. drive-by shooting.
As for Iraq, every intelligence service in the world said they had weapons of mass destruction. Our only mistake was in allowing the UN weapons inspectors to stumble around blindly for over a year. We should have gone in immediately. We didn't find a lot of WMDs (we found some), but we did find rape rooms, torture chambers, prisons filled with children and mass graves. We put an end to all of that. Even considering the daily violence, Iraq is better off without Saddam.
Iran at the time was not considered that much of a threat. It had a "moderate" reformist government. Sure, it was financing terrorism, but there was no talk of developing a nuke. It wasn't until August of last year that Ahmanutjob was inaugurated and things started to get crazy.
I still think part of the reason we went into Iraq was Syria. If Israel keeps going we won't have to worry about them. At the time we went into Iraq they didn't have this terrorist as president, so Iraq was the correct choice with the info we had
