My Favorite Song

(sung by Rex Allen Jr.) The last of the silver screen cowboys, The last of a fast-dying breed, Cattle a-grazin, Six guns a-blazin, God knows, this is what America still needs. The last of the silver screen cowboys, Standing tall for what he believes is right, Don't push him around, Cause more than one villain's found, That he don't back down from a fight. Roy and Trigger, we loved you, And Hoppy, we saved up our dimes, For the Saturday double-feature, And we sat through both movies two times. Gene, Lash and Rex were our heroes, We knew good would win in the end, If we could just turn back the pages, And ride those old trails once again. (Sung by Rex Allen) The last of the silver screen cowboys, We settled the score with our fists, Oh, we loved little babies, Treated women like ladies, And it was only our horse, That we kissed. (Sung by Roy Rogers) Then the time slipped away 'for we knew it. And you little wranglers put up your playguns and your toys. But memories don't die, And we're still riding high, (All together) We're the last of the silver screen cowboys.

End of song. How I pity you liberals for not receiving the upbringing that I received. What shallow humans you must be. You will never understand concepts like honor and integrity and courage. You will never have the willingness to sacrifice yourself for the betterment of others. You will never believe there is anything worth fighting for. You will be forever cowards. Pity.

I was a Hoppy Kid--Hoppy guns, Hoppy comic books, Hoppy breadspread and hoppy rug in my room. America was a different place in those days...In some ways not as good as today, but in a lot of ways, a much better place to bring up a kid than today. Oh, well.

I'm STILL a Hoppy kid. I have about a hundred radio episodes on CD and 35 movies on DVD.

If you haven't already done so, you should read the Hopalong Cassidy novels written by Clarence E. Mulford and Louis L'Amour.

When I was a kid, I was a bit of a mutant cowboy. I wore Roy Rogers clothing, carried a mare's laig (Wanted Dead or Alive) at my side and a derringer under my belt buckle (Have Gun, Will Travel). Can you imagine kids these days walking around so heavily armed? Well they do, but with real guns.

One of the left's greatest successes is the sissyfication of this country.

That's why all my heroes(but my Dad) have been cowboys.

But I guess being a man of God kinda puts you in the same line as Roy Rogers

I REALLY admired Roy Rogers and Dale, but revisiting the movies recently I came across a somewhat disturbing theme: In several of his films, in his capacity as a law enforcemnt official, he blatently declared that he didn't "need a search warrant" with no further explanation.... I found this curious.
