Common Sense Can Be Fun

So, they fixed the garage door AFTER my car was looted. I came home Sunday and inserted my key card and the door rolled up. This morning I went to the rental office and asked the manager, "Those new key card readers are temporary, right? Because this morning I got in using my military ID card." I was assured that they were going to put in a new system and then she asked, "May I ask what prompted you to do that?" I told her that when I inserted my card Sunday, I had to push it against something that gave way a bit before the door opened. That told me the system was mechanical, not electronic. I haven't seen a look like that since Jimmy Carter's Iran hostage rescue tanked. She actually thought she was putting something over on us. As I went out the door, I said, "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone." But I doubt I'm the smartest person in the building. Others will figure it out. At least I gave her a warning that a storm is approaching.
