A Year Ago Today 5/08/05
A year ago today, I was once again whining about public school teachers who seem to be incapable of exercising individual judgment.
I have to wonder when pens and pencils are going to be considered dangerous weapons. After all, the pen is mightier than the sword. It has a shaft longer than a 3.5" nail, so it could inflict more damage.
We had an incident like that a few years ago on Capitol Hill. It was Halloween, and some people were coming to work in costume. Over at the education department, two people dressed up like cowboys, with silly little straw hats and those peewee cap guns. When it was discovered that they got past security wearing "weapons," the entire building was evacuated while security searched for them.
This is the kind of shameless, hysterical theatrics that liberals engage in all the time just to prove a point. Guns are guns -- even if they are toys -- and guns are bad. So, it is acceptable to waste thousands of dollars in lost productivity to evacuate a federal building just to prove a point. They don't care how much money is wasted or who they embarrass or frighten or hurt. And if a child is involved, that's just gravy. Liberals love to exploit children.
