What's the Religion of Peace Up To Today?

My boss just brought me two pieces of news copy about violence by Muslims in Afghanistan and asked whether I was doing the story. I pointed out that they were two different stories in two different parts of the country. "Oh." That piqued my curiosity, so I did a quick search of the wires. What are those peaceful Muslims up to JUST TODAY? MIRANSHAH, Pakistan, May 1, 2006 (AFP) - A pro-government tribal elder and religious leader has been found dead three days after being kidnapped from a Pakistani tribal area bordering Afghanistan, officials said Monday. JAMMU, India, May 1, 2006 (AFP) - Suspected Kashmir militants massacred 26 Hindus in attacks that Indian officials said Monday were designed to sow terror and scupper peace talks between the government and moderate separatists. JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) -- An anti-terror unit found a backpack filled with explosives similar to those used in the 2005 triple suicide bombings on the Indonesia resort island Bali that killed 20 people, police said Monday. EL-ARISH, Egypt (AP) -- Security forces killed two gunmen Monday in the continued sweep through central Sinai for suspects in last week's terrorist bombings in the rugged peninsula, police said. KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AP) -- A bomb exploded near a convoy of Canadian troops traveling along a highway in southern Afghanistan on Monday, slightly injuring two soldiers and destroying their vehicle, a military official said. KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, May 1, 2006 (AFP) - A civilian was killed and two others wounded after their vehicle was ambushed by Taliban rebels in southern Afghanistan, officials said Monday. KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AP) -- Taliban militants killed a hostage after he tried to escape and dumped his beheaded body in lawless southern Afghanistan. Three Afghan soldiers were killed in a roadside bombing also blamed on the extremist group. BAGHDAD - Three foreign security contractors were killed when their convoy was hit by a roadside bomb just outside Baghdad, witnesses said. Two more foreigners were wounded in the blast, on the main highway southeast of the capital, near the town of Suwaiyra. SULAIMANIYAH, Iraq, May 1, 2006 (AFP) - Iranian forces shelled Kurdish rebel positions in Iraq for the second day on Monday, forcing dozens of Kurdish families to flee, a rebel leader said. JAKARTA, May 1, 2006 (AFP) - Indonesian police have found a powerful bomb in an East Java house rented by a leading terror suspect who was shot dead in a raid last week, a source said Monday. KHOST, Afghanistan, May 1, 2006 (AFP) - A suicide bomber who planned to target an anniversary ceremony was killed in a premature blast and an accomplice was wounded in Afghanistan's southeastern province of Khost early Monday, officials said. BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- Three roadside bombs exploded in Baghdad on Monday, a national holiday in Iraq, wounding two Iraqi civilians, police said. QUETTA, Pakistan, May 1, 2006 (AFP) - Suspected tribal rebels shot and injured two soldiers, fired rockets on security forces and blew up a railway line in the southwestern Pakistani province of Baluchistan, officials said Monday. KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AP) -- A suspected Taliban suicide attacker in a car exploded a bomb Monday near a U.S.-led coalition convoy in a southern Afghan town, wounding one soldier and one Afghan passer-by, police said. JAMMU, India, May 1, 2006 (AFP) - Eight of 13 people kidnapped by suspected Islamic militants in Indian Kashmir at the weekend were found dead, a day after 26 people were shot dead, police said Monday. Yeah, well, you get the idea. And it's still early! Keep in mind that there is nothing unusual about today. This kind of violence happens every, single day. In fact, a lot of Muslim violence is so commonplace that it's rarely reported anymore. For instance, I'm sure somone was killed in southern Thailand, since it's a daily occurrance. There are several Muslim gangs in the southern Philippines that wreak havoc every day. I'm sure Malaysian Muslims are plotting something. Etc., etc., etc.. Why isn't every country in the world trying to wipe this barbaric culture from the face of the earth?

Because they both fear that they are somewhat responsible for Muslim utilization of violence against them, and, well... they fear Muslims ultilizing violence against them.

The only language these Muslims understand is brutality, and it will take more than smarts to defeat them.

You had better be careful writing posts like this...

Some devout disciple of the Religion of Peace might peacefully hunt you down and peacefully saw off your head...

aaaand, somehow somewhere in the world some one is killing somebody. Personally don't give much of a toss one way or the other, but has anyone taken a close look at the homicide stats in the USA recently?

Why, yes I have, Davo. Every year in California alone, nearly as many
Americans are murdered as have been killed in the entire Iraq war.

Your point?

They didn't die freeing children from prisons. They didn't die shutting down rape rooms or torture chambers or making sure mass graves are never again filled. They didn't die trying to teach 21st century human rights to a 7th century culture. Their deaths were TRULY senseless. Yet, you don't see the anti-war crowd rallying in the streets demanding that the murders stop. I don't see Cindy Sheehan demanding justice for slain policemen. This is just more proof that liberals are moral and physical cowards who would hide under the bed rather than do anything to stop the advance of evil. They cry crocodile tears for our soldiers, but to them, human suffering is just an abstract to be used in their pseudo-intellectual discussions.

As Albert Einstein once said, "The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing."

You really shouldn't ask me rhetorical questions. I usually have an answer.
