Moxy? I Hate Moxy!

You have to hand it to liberals -- they've got moxy. When a Republican is accused of wrongdoing, despite a total lack of evidence, he will resign his seat in Congress and go home to face the charges. In fact, that's what Republican rules require him to do. Even if he is later exhonerated and the allegations are proven to be yet another treacherous Democratic plot, his reputation, and more importantly, his position in Congress are lost. Democratic Victory! But when Democrats are accused of wrongdoing, even in the face of overwhelming evidence, they stick it out. They are right, everyone else is wrong. They don't have a rule requiring them to resign if under a cloud. The latest example of Democratic Moxy is Representative William Jefferson (I know, your brain automatically inserts "Clinton" at the end) of the great (and corrupt) state of Louisiana. Despite the fact that he was caught on video taking a bribe from an FBI informant, despite the fact that $90,000 was found in his freezer, he was still defiant when FBI agents searched his office.

In concerns echoed by the Republican House and Senate leaders, the Louisiana Democrat blasted an apparently unprecedented weekend search of his office by FBI agents as an "outrageous intrusion into the separation of powers between the executive branch and the congressional branch."

"I expect to continue to represent the people who have sent me here," Jefferson said during a brief appearance before reporters.

That's moxy! Representative William Jefferson (Clinton) joins a long line of Democrats who have been caught with their fingers in the till, their pants down, alcohol on their breath or a girl suffocating in their submerged car. Maybe they should build a Hall of Fame.

LR, you are correct but there is another relationship involved. Representative William Jefferson is, of course, a lawyer. Lawyers are America's default proxy for nobility. They are licensed to do what the ordinary person cannot.

Lawyers consider themselves above the law with good reasons. For them extortion (threatening lawsuits), theft (class action robberies that glean millions for lawyers, a pittance for claimants and bankrupt pensions for workers), and lying in a court of law (presenting plausible defenses with paid 'experts') are legal. Organized crime was never this organized! Lawyer Kickers pro bono

Now, now. Let's remember that not everyone who wears a mask is a bad guy -- and my faithful sidekick is a lawyer.

Heh! Your comment here is funny. :)

Yeah, Democrats have no guilt complex over having done something wrong or illegal. Seems all they care about is getting away with it. They only beg forgiveness (Clinton regarding his Oval Office affair that "wasn't really sex") when they are caught, and the American public seems to drool all over itself because it's been given the opportunity to "forgive and forget" as we good Christians have been trained to do. I guess I'm not as good a Christian as I should be, because I detest Clinton and the rest of his ilk.
