The Devil You Know

That was predictable. Given the choice between a white, moderate Democrat and a black, moderate Democrat who was directly responsible for much of the chaos and many of the deaths that occurred in New Orleans during Katrina, voters chose the black, moderate Democrat. Black voters need to learn that the solution to their problems does not lie in politics. If you want to see a city where blacks live in the worst circumstances, just pick any city with a black mayor, a black police chief and a black school superintendent. Throw in the corruption found in the state of Louisiana and the city of New Orleans, and you have third world conditions. Bill Cosby has the solution to problems in the black community and it can be done in the home, without engaging in the smarmy politics of race or the degrading politics of victimhood. In fact, most black problems can be put directly at the feet of so-called black leaders, black politicians and black educators -- liberals all. Stop assuming victimhood Stop having children out of wedlock Take school seriously Stay away from drugs and alcohol Stay out of gangs Get a job Get married Raise a family That's pretty much all there is to it. You might also consider shunning the Democratic party -- the party responsible for everything you've suffered, from slavery to welfare dependence. Thanks to Echo Talon for graphic.

LR, yet another brilliant observation.

My compliments. Exactly right.

I have said for years that if every single Black Person in America would stop complaining, stay in school and focus on their studies until they graduate, get married before they have children, be faithful to their partners and stay married, get a job (Any job) and show up on time every day, do their best all day long, and work the full workday, go home and pay their bills, live within their means whatever means they have, stop drinking, stop drugging, completely stop engaging in any illegal activity of any kind, and turn off BET, within ten years they would be running this Country.

(By the way, this statement usually make any Black Person who hears it angry enough to kill whoever said it.)

It isn't brilliant, it's just obvious. But given the racial climate in this country, you risk your reputation by stating the obvious. Racial pimps like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have turned this country into a tinderbox, where you can spark a firestorm if you even hint that there might be something wrong with black American society. They enrich themselves at the expense of "their people."

Anybody who has read my blog for a long time knows that there is no greater advocate of black advancement than I. And it's very frustrating to see a group of people in the greatest country in the world flailing away uselessly instead of progressing with everyone else.

I agree that re-electing Nagin was crazy, but his opponent actually got a majority of the black vote. Nagin got the majority of White votes.

AP reported that Nagin won majority-black precincts and Landrieu majority-white ones, but Nagin also attracted significant crossover support in predominantly white precincts in Uptown New Orleans (i.e. self-loathing white liberals). There would have been a lot more black votes for Nagin, but they were -- elsewhere.
