Like apparently most people this weekend, everyone went to see "DaVinci Code"...and so did I. I do not know about everyone else but I really wasn't moved. Yeah the movie looked great and offered an entertaining story but for the Catholic Church to even react or anyone to think that it offers an accurate worthy version of events...I don't think so. O.k. I am a theology junky ever since I majored in it in college....So I have to admit I had to see the Da Vinci Code. I wouldn't read it but I did see the movie. The book never sounded that great to me. Who would believe this story? People who are not Christians or religious anyway or Catholics and other Christians who never bothered to learn their own history..oh and those who are not clear thinkers. Otherwise this movie is just fantasy and a little blasphemy. Actually the story is not really logical in a lot of ways but I can see how it would be fun to believe because I guess the real story for people has lost its luster...or more likely forgotten to be told by those that know... So I really don't get what the big deal is...I mean just because Da Vinci hundreds of years after the fact paints the "Last Supper" with Mary Magdalene next to Jesus wearing corresponding garb and sitting at an angle next to Jesus to create a "V" or challis symbol is definitive proof that she was his wife and should have been the head of the church... makes no sense. I didn't know Da Vinci was there and I did not remember their clothing and seating chart in the Bible describing the event. I guess if we looked a little bit harder into Da Vinci's painting we could probably confirm "she even looked pregnant" in that picture based on Da Vinci's interpretation...thus making it so. If people think this stuff is true then I am sure there are a bunch of people that think episodes of Star Trek are based in reality as well...I think they are called Scientologists. And speaking of Scientologists...if you want to see a good movie and can ignore the fact that Cruise is a real life idiot who makes too much money...go see MI:3! That movie was so good because he paid a good director. This movie was the best of the 3 and what an action movie is supposed to be a plot, characters, and lots of ACTION. So the movie that should have been great is just fair and the movie I expected to bomb kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning to end. Goes to show Cruise should stick to what he knows...movies...and leave the psychology and spirituality to himself.

This whole Da Vinci Code phenomenon is incredible. I haven't seen so many people willing to believe a work of fiction since Bill Clinton's first inaugural address.
It is glaringly obvious that the left WANTS Christianity to be a false religion. Despite their hatred and ridicule of all things Christian, liberals subconsciously fear the wrath of God.
The Gnostic heresy is so attractive to people because it basically separates your "spiritual" life from your "physical" life. What you do in the flesh doesn't really matter, it's what you believe that counts! Can you see how attractive that is to today's generation? :-)
Well, it's been equally attractive to people about every 30 years or so...just enough time to forget that it already raised its head (dozens of times) and got shot down. It was all the rage, in a slightly different form, when I was a geeky Greek major studying it in college in the late 70s.
Nothing new under the sun. It's all just vanity...a chasing after the wind for something that we like better than absolute truth. Nothing sexy about absolute truth.
