Life is Simple

For those of us who live in the greatest country the world has ever seen, life is pretty easy. But there are still those who blow it because they can't follow the simplest of rules. 1. Be honest. 2. Graduate from high school. 3. Get a job and work hard. 4. Do not have children out of wedlock. 5. Stay away from drugs and alcohol. That's all there is to it. From there, you can become even more successful by doing things like furthering your education and finding a good career. Once you get the basics down, you are pretty much free to be all you can be. That's why millions want to enter this country by any means necessary. Those who say life is complicated are simply muddying the waters to conceal their own failures -- from others and from themselves. They fail because of racism, because of capitalism, because of sexism. They blame everyone but themselves, when the truth is, they're just losers. Liberalism is the politics of losers. We can't stop drug use, so legalize drugs. We can't stop kids from having sex, so pass out condoms in schools. We can't make our kids perfect, so let's not even try. Stop testing them in school, stop "spying" on them. Stop interfering in their life. Oh, but we can stop crime and violence -- not through religious education, not through the enforcement of moral standards, not through peer pressure -- but by simply banning guns. One of my favorite bloggers, Bob Parks at Black and Right has written a letter to his daughter. It's worth a read.

I've been pretty busy lately and I haven't had a lot of time to visit blogs. I just wanted you to know I still pop in and read when I get a chance.

This is an obligation-free blog. I'm still surprised that anyone at all reads it.

Well, LR, you shouldn't be surprised.

I read it every day. As a matter of fact, Your's and Mark's are the only two Blogs on the whole Blogosphere that I make a point to read every day.

I think you are brilliant, and when I grow up, I want to be just like you.
