Talk Show Host "Offends" Muslims

Bill Handel of KFI AM 640 in Los Angeles could be in trouble with Muslims. On January 12th, he made fun of the deaths of 363 pilgrims in a stampede in Mecca as people ran to take part in a stoning ritual. A stoning ritual. A stoning ritual. And here comes the apologists for the religion of peace, the Council on American-Islamic Relations -- CAIR. CAIR pops up whenever anyone has the temerity to comment on Islamic barbarism, terrorism or atrocities. They are demanding an apology. Their strong-arm tactics have worked in the past. The spineless management right here at WMAL in DC fired Michael Graham last year for making comments the pressure group considered insulting. I e-mailed the station telling them that after 12 years, they had lost me as a listener. Haven't listened to the station since. But so far, the management at KFI seems to be made of sterner stuff. They are backing Handel, who says he will apologize if CAIR agrees to denounce "all bombing or attacks where intended victims are innocent citizens," to acknowledge Israeli sovereignty and to verify that the group has never had connections with any terrorist group or sponsor. Fat chance of that. My question is, why should Handel apologize for things Muslims do? Shouldn't the Muslims apologize? Is it even possible to insult a Muslim? Scratch that. Muslims have thinner skin than newborn mice. In March 2004, KFI issued an on-air apology after CAIR filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission following a skit that claimed Muslims have sex with animals, don't bathe and hate Jews. My question is why? That was a totally wasted apology. Muslims don't have sex with animals? Let's take a look at some Islamic teachings: "The meat of horses, mules, or donkeys is not recommended. It is strictly forbidden if the animal was sodomized while alive by a man. In that case, the animal must be taken outside the city and sold." "If one commits an act of sodomy with a cow, a ewe, or a camel, their urine and their excrements become impure, and even their milk may no longer be consumed. The animal must then be killed as quickly as possible and burned, and the price of it paid to its owner by him who sodomized it." "It is forbidden to consume the excrement of animals or their nasal secretions. But if such are mixed in minute proportions into other foods their consumption is not forbidden." I couldn't find any laws forbidding sex with animals, just laws on what to do should such a thing have occurred. Muslims don't bathe? I have personal experience with that one. Before the fall of the Shah of Iran, I was a military instructor at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver (since closed). The Iranian students (officers) believed that body odor was an indication of manliness. Wowee! There were tales of instructors having to crack open windows in the dead of Colorado winter to prevent passing out. When I was in the BX or commissary, I could literally tell if there was an Iranian officer in the next aisle. Then the Shah died and they all went away. Muslims don't hate Jews? Anti-Semitism has long been a factor in the fate of Jews wherever they lived, but in the Middle East, it is embedded so deeply into its culture, its society, and the hearts of its people that it truly is beyond the comprehension of most Americans. Muslims couldn't hate Jews more if their religion had been invented by Hitler. So why apologize for telling the truth?
