Poor Oprah
I really have to feel for this billionaire. I feel for all billionaires. They really have it tough. Seems Oprah was duped -- DUPED -- by author James Frey, who wrote one of those feel-sorry-for-me books about his battle with drugs. Seems he embellished some of the "facts" in his book. He didn't really serve a three-month jail sentence and he can't remember whether he'd had dental surgery without Novocaine. Oprah, have you never heard of artistic license? I thought liberals believed in individual truth. I mean, you people still believe that Clinton was a great president. Liberal belief in individual truth is so strong that you treat a NOVEL like the "Davinci Code" as gospel, even while treating the Gospels like a novel. Cut this guy a break.
Hey, I'm a victim here too, but you don't see me whining on national television. I once had a tooth filled without Novocaine because my radio show was scheduled for an hour later. Now, nobody will ever believe that story again.

I remember a stoty about a Buddhist monk having a root canal done who refused novocaine because he wanted to "Transcend dental medication".
I think this story has been way overblown. The only thing wrong here is that the author sold his manuscript to the publisher as non-fiction instead of fiction. Big deal.
Perhaps what Oprah is really upset about is that it proves Liberals are willing to lie to make their point.
