The War on Christmas

I can think of no holiday that is more celebrated -- or more attacked -- than Christmas. I can also think of no other holiday that more profoundly affects people than Christmas. Whether they are joyous, depressed, lonely, happy, overwhelmed, etc., Christmas influences people like no other holiday. That is why Christmas is celebrated and hated all over the world. Here's the problem. When you dig down through all the kerfuffle, Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ -- Christ the Father, Christ the Son, Christ the Holy Spirit, Christ the Messiah. And a belief in God requires a committment to a set of moral standards. Secularists do not have the morality, the maturity nor the discipline to submit to a higher authority. In other words, they need wiggle room. If it feels good, do it. That is why it is in the interests of secularists to diminish or destroy the true meaning of Christmas. This destruction takes many forms. Contrary to what Bill O'Reilly says, the symbol of Christmas is not the Christmas tree, but the Star atop it. But that doesn't mean that believers shouldn't fight the battle to prevent the Christmas tree from being called a Holiday tree. Businesses have commercialized Christmas to the point where it is garishly celebrated in countries like Japan, where Christians are a small minority. But that doesn't mean believers shouldn't insist that businesses advertise a Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays. Secularists are filing lawsuit after lawsuit to prevent Christmas displays on government property, to force God out of the public square, claiming the bogus authority of separation of church and state. That's a battle believers should and do fight every single day. This doesn't happen with any other holiday in this country. These liberals don't demand that Ramadan should include snacks to make fasting easier. They don't call for the inclusion of executed criminals on Memorial Day (although I hope I'm not giving them ideas). Sure, their self-loathing and anti-American beliefs cause them to babble on endlessly about imperialism and genocide during Independence Day and Colombus day, but that's to be expected. But they don't devote nearly the time and energy on those things as they do on the War on Christmas. Why does Christmas so upset leftists? Because we got it right. We nailed it. There IS a God. Jesus IS the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus IS the Messiah. This IS a battle of good against evil. This IS a war between God and Satan. And believers are on the right side.

You surprise me. Not many people get that Jesus IS God.
