Time to Bring Back Dueling
During a bitter debate over the budget last week, Rep. Marion Berry (D-Ark.) called the youthful, redheaded Rep. Adam Putnam (R-Fla.) a "Howdy Doody-looking nimrod."
When Rep. Putnam returned to the floor to denounce this shameful behavior (as rightfully he should have), you could see that he was barely controlling his outrage. This is what liberals consider to be political disourse.
We need to bring back dueling.
This was a much more civil society when men walked about heavily armed. I have to wonder whether people like Ted Kennedy, Michael Moore, Howard Dean, etc. would continue to sling their vile insults and reckless slander if they had to back up their words the next morning on the field of honor. I think the liberals would see the error of their ways much more clearly at a distance of 20 paces (or 30 paces for Teddy and Michael, since they're such large targets).
Being of the gentler sex, Nancy Pelosi and Hillary could delegate some gentleman to defend their (dubious) honor. I wonder if they'd get any takers.

It might make Michael Moore more civil, but I would be afraid of Ted Kennedy because his car has killed more people than my peacemaker
Come to think of it, maybe we should make this an Old West-style shoot-out. I wouldn't want to turn my back on any of those people.
Actually, the outburst is all the more amazing because Nimrod is the great-grandson of Noah, known for his skill as a hunter. So, a nimrod is someone known for his great hunting skills. It appears that Berry didn't even have the knowledge to slander Putnam properly.
