African-American civil rights leaders Martin Luther King and Ralph Abernathy vote for Republican Dwight Eisenhower for President
It has been lost in history that most of the civil rights leaders before the 1960's were allied with the Republican Party. Why? Because the Democrats opposed ALL attempts at leveling the playing field for blacks and women. They were opposed to black equality and to women's suffrage.
