Shot Down in Plames

I was just over at the Daily Kos and I'm still kinda woozy. The hatred, ignorance and just pure stupidity at those liberal sites make me a bit dizzy and sick to my stomach. The Valerie Plame story, which all the liberals were crowing would bring down the Bush administration, seems to have slipped off their radar. Apparently, it is bringing down the "journalists" who reported on it rather than administration officials. Washington Post ombudsman Deborah Howell spanked the Great and Powerful Bob Woodward Sunday, saying the newspaper took a "hit to its credibility" and calling for more oversight of his work. And all just for withholding what he knew about the CIA's leak probe from his editor and for making public statements that were dismissive of the investigation without disclosing his own involvement. This comes after Judith Miller was forced to resign from the NYT earlier this month for misleading the paper about her role in the case. And we still don't know if prosecutor Fitzgerald has enough of a case to convict Scooter Libby. My point in this boring screed is that we aren't hearing apologies from the left. The liberals aren't admitting that mistakes were made. They've just continued their search for a way to bring down the Bush presidency. I get the feeling liberals would much prefer a government like that of the Philippines, where street demonstrations can change an administration. Democrats hate democracy. Oh, and by the way, after liberals predicted that gas would be up to five dollars a barrel -- again saying this would result in Mr. Bush's downfall, fuel is now dipping below two bucks a gallon -- depending on tax levels. Once again, no admission that they were wrong. I guess the only way you can hold onto your beliefs when you're wrong 100% of the time is if you never admit it. Just go from one failed belief to the next.
