So, Vice President Cheney is on TV Monday, addressing critics of the Bush administration's conduct of the war in Iraq. On the live CNN coverage, suddenly a big, black X starts flashing over his face. ??? CNN apologizes on Tuesday, saying it was from another source that had bled through because of a faulty switcher. Anchor Daryn Kagan says:
"So, for all the conspiracy theories out there ... that's not what this is about. It's a computer bug that people deal with every day. It's just that ours was in front of millions of people."
Having worked in television since the early 70s, I can believe that. Sure, it's suspicious that a "glitch" like that should happen at that precise moment in the broadcast day. But switchers are more complex nowadays. In over 30 years of broadcasting, I've never seen such a glitch, but stranger things have happened -- like that meteor shower in Smallville, Kansas that brought a being with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men to our planet.
But here's the Big Lie. When's the last time CNN had millions of viewers?

How true. I'm a news junkie but cannot remember the last time I watched CNN. If it weren't for all the libs I work with mentioning it, I would probably forget about CNN entirely.
It took me two years of pestering to get Fox News on our newsroom cable system. I haven't watched CNN in ages. Here's an example of CNN ratings:
FOX News - Bill O’Reilly - 2,851,000
FOX News - Sean Hannity - 2,073,000
FOX News - Greta Van Susteren - 1,849,000
FOX News - Shepard Smith - 1,538,000
FOX News - Brit Hume - 1,436,000
CNN - Larry King - 947,000
CNN - Anderson Cooper - 732,000
CNN - Paula Zahn - 698,000
CNN - Lou Dobbs - 658,000
CNNHN - Nancy Grace - 600,000
