This Day in Republican History 10/20/05

October 20, 1942 60 prominent African-Americans issue Durham Manifesto, calling on southern Democrats to abolish their all-white primaries This is another almost undocumented historical event. I googled "Durham Manifesto" and found almost nothing except for the above statement, quoted word for word on site after site. There was one site that stated some of the signatories of the manifesto were later lynched, but that was a liberal blog, and you know how credible they are. It seems odd that there would not be more documentation about an important event in black history like this, such as the reaction of the southern Democrats to a bunch of uppity black Republicans demanding honesty in the political system. I've commented before on the revisionists' success in covering up Democratic Party atrocities, and this seems to be another example of it.
