Help Me Out Here

OK, Rosa Parks has died. I have spent the last hour plowing through dozens of biography web sites and have still not found an answer to my question. Pop quiz. In 1955, when she sat in the white section of a bus, was Rosa Parks a Democrat or a Republican? I would assume that she was a Republican, since the vast majority of the blacks in the South at that time were. I would assume she was a Republican, since the racism, the segregation and the Jim Crow laws she fought were instigated by Democrats. I would assume she was a Republican because the NAACP was founded by Republicans and she was a member. I would assume she was a Republican because other female trailblazers like Susan B. Anthony were Republicans. I just can't find it in print. This seems to be another of those historic tidbits that has conveniently fallen though the cracks, like the various Democrat massacres of blacks and white Republicans in the South during and after the Civil War. Anyone have the answer? E-mail me. loneranger85@hotmail.com You know me, I never pass up the chance to remind the Democrats of their brutal past -- which they have never acknowledged, and for which they have never apologized.
