We had to shoot a heck of a lot of Democrats to end the evil of slavery in this country. The lines aren't drawn so clearly on abortion. This atrocity isn't confined to certain states, so we can't very well have another civil war. And our society has evolved to the point where putting a musketball between the eyes of an abortionist is considered unrefined. (Democrats display no such reticence about the slaughter of millions of unborn babies.) So, if we are to end the evil of abortion, we must wage war on our age-old enemy in the courts and the legislatures. The Republican Party was founded for the single purpose of opposing the Democrats and ending one of the great evils of human history. After we won that battle, we had to fight the Democrats to end segregation, Jim Crow laws, "black codes," the KKK, discrimination against women, etc. The war continues, and now we are engaged in a battle to end another great evil -- the evil of abortion. This is too important a battle to lose. I don't believe Harriet Miers has the steel to hold her own in this unending war against evil. I am hoping she will withdraw her nomination and leave the door open for someone more experienced, better qualified, better known and better groomed for the position. If there is one thing at which Democrats excel, it is at keeping their eye on the sparrow. They are a patient bunch. Day by day, month by month, year by year, decade by decade, they continue to attempt to drag this country into the gutter. It is our God-given duty to stop them. We cannot lose our focus. We must enlist our best and brightest in the fight. Unfortunately, Harriet Miers does not impress me as falling into that category.
