So, a single judge announces her retirement and the entire country is up in arms. I guess Sandra Day O'Connor figured she'd done all the damage it is possible for one person to do.
You can almost hear the two sides sharpening their edged weapons. This sentence from the Washington Post is very telling. O'Connor gave no reason why she was resigning from the nine-member court, whose decisions play a central role in shaping the social, cultural and political fabric of the United States.
Incredible. The liberal Post actually ADMITS that nine people play a central role in shaping the social, cultural and political fabric of the United States. That is not how it's supposed to be. How did we get to this point? We the People are supposed to elect representatives who will consider our will and codify it into law. The Supreme Court's job is to then compare that law to our Constitution (when asked to do so) and rule on whether that law should be allowed to stand.
I have to wonder whether certain members of the Supreme Court have even read the Constitution, much less use it as the basis of their rulings.
The decrepit, amoral Democrat party has hijacked the three institutions of our society that used to play the central role in shaping the social, cultural and political fabric of our country -- the education system, the media and the family. And if conservatives ever want this country to get back to what our Founding Fathers envisioned, we have to take them back. The alternative is to continue down the road to tyranny, just as all leftist governments eventually do.
We're making good progress in taking back the media. The MSM is quickly losing all credibility. Parents sitting at kitchen tables are home-schooling their kids, giving them an education instead of a brainwashing. And now I hope the Republicans don't lose their spine (as they so often do) and will fight for Supreme Court justices who actually believe in the principles of people like Washington, Jefferson and Madison.

One year later and I'm posting a comment. Talk about a belated response!
I too rejoiced when she left the Supreme Court, and we did fight a good fight, didn't we? But the Supreme Court still has quite a ways to go.
Excellent post.
