This Day in Republican History 04/22/05

April 22, 1981 President Ronald Reagan establishes FIRST annual Days of Remembrance of Victims of the Holocaust. Another first for the Republicans. Where were the Democrats? A side note: The number of victims of the Nazi holocaust would have been much smaller if FDR had changed our immigration laws to allow Jewish refugees to enter this country. But FDR - anti-Semite and racist -- did not want to hear anything about the Jewish situation in Europe. He didn't want to hear it, he didn't want to discuss it, he didn't want anything to do with it. He even turned back the Ship of Fools. The majority of the passengers of that ship died in Nazi death camps. The wealthy New England socialist grew up in a system, where Jews weren't allowed to join the country clubs or associate with the elite rich. And liberals have erected a memorial to this loathsome man!
